At St. Albans East Primary School we have a Student Wellbeing Worker (SWW). The role of the SWW is to provide pastoral care to students and parents/guardians within the school.
Programs on offer during the year include:
SOCIAL SKILLS GROUPS
SEASONS (A peer support programs for grief and loss as a result of death, separation and divorce)
Support could be individual or group-based and may involve:
→ Support and basic counselling
→ Assistance with educational activities
→ Referral to other (appropriate) specialised support services and networking with the local community
Assistance can be provided regarding various issues, for example:
→ Bereavement (grief/loss)
→ Family issues
→ Behaviour/bullying
→ Substance abuse
→ Violence (assault/abuse)
→ Mental health difficulties (depression and anxiety
